There have been a number of Girl Geek Dinners held throughout Europe and now finally also in New York City.
The events are aimed at providing a welcoming atmosphere and a platform for learning in an informal environment.

About the Organizers
Jennifer Drue is a New York City based Digital Media Producer. Since 2000, she has worked with new media developing and designing successful projects for television, film, arts, media and commercial clients. Prior to that, Jennifer worked in the fast-paced television industry at CNN International and CBS News. Currently, Jennifer is a Developer for White & Case, where she is in charge of the design and support of all web based solutions for the Global Firm. Melissa Bailey is currently a network engineer for White & Case. She is in charge of network operations and architecture of design for the Global firm. She supports 47 offices globally within her job. On her free time Melissa has a Vblog called IT Gem Girl where she entwines her knowledge of technology with style all together. Melissa shows current products from a woman’s perceptive of where technology is going for the Modern IT GIRL. She provides updates on events, conferences, and forums to discuss topics with others. As a Singer and someone in love with Technology, her insight provides quaff that has been so lacking for the GEEK GIRLS worldwide!
Emily Huang is currently working for White & Case LLP as a software engineer. In her currently position, she is in charge of designing, developing, supporting and deploying global in-house web and desktop applications for the world wide law firm. To her IT teammates, she is known for her helpful, positive and cheerful attitude toward problem solving, helping each other out and working together as a team. During her free time, Emily either enjoys having side programming projects on different language and OS platforms or utilizes the modern technology to get her busy life in order. When she is not tied to her computer or blackberry, you will see out in the nature, kayaking, camping or hiking with her dog, Snowby. Emily has gained interest in Girl Geek Dinners because she wants to reach out to other female programmers in all different fields. There are not many of them in her field, current job environment and she rarely saw them though out her college years!
